(WH) Jeep Grand Cherokee - built from 11 October 2006 through 23 November 2006 (MDH 101100-112323). (XH) Jeep Commander - built from 11 October 2006 through 23 November 2006 (MDH 101100-112323). (KJ) Jeep Cherokee - built from 18 September 2006 through 30 November 2006 (MDH 091807-113018). (JK) Jeep Wrangler - built from 9 November 2006 through 8 December 2006 (MDH 110914-120811). The recall only applies to the above vehicles equipped with an ESP/ABS system (sales code BNB, BRF, BRY, BRI, BR3, BR4 or BR6).

What are the defects?

The software programmed into the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module may cause the rear wheels to lock up during certain braking conditions.

What are the hazards?

Vehicle malfunction.
