WaiveStar Group—20 inch—6 speed Childrens Mountain Bicycle
What are the defects?
The pedal clearance height does not meet Australian Standard AS 1927/1998. Accordingly, there is a risk that the pedal may make contact with the ground when the bike is leaning. The quick release for the seat post requires adjustment in excess of manufacturer's specifications. Further, a warning label located on the frame is the incorrect size and safety warning about handle grips was omitted from the Owners Handbook.
What are the hazards?
What should consumers do?
WaiveStar in conjunction with Medibank Private will deliver to each new member replacement pedals, a new warning label and an addendum to the Owners Handbook. It is recommended that the bicycle not be used until the new pedals are fitted. If members have any questions, contact WaiveStar on 1300 885 904.
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is the responsible regulator for this recall.
