What are the defects?
The Eye Gear Sunglasses do not comply with the labelling requirements of the 'Consumer Goods (Sunglasses and Fashion Spectacles) Safety Standard 2017'. The products are missing required information about restrictions on use.
What are the hazards?
Consumers need to be informed through labelling what level of protection the sunglasses provide. The incorrect level of protection can result in vision impairment or exposure to very high levels of sunlight.
What should consumers do?
All affected customers should immediately stop using the product and dispose of it appropriately.
Michael Sklovsky Pty Ltd is no longer trading and as a result there is no avenue for remediation for consumers.
