Hyundai Motor Company Australia Pty Ltd — Hyundai TQ iMax and iLoad
What are the defects?
In some vehicles, the locking mechanism on the rear sliding door may be defective and unable to hold the door open.
When the vehicle is at a forward incline, the holding mechanism may fail, resulting in the door sliding forward and slamming shut.
What are the hazards?
If the locking mechanism fails and the door slides shut, this may result in serious bodily injury to a person, especially to the limbs.
What should consumers do?
Hyundai Motor Company Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles via mail and request that they arrange an appointment with an authorised Hyundai dealership to have the sliding door lock mechanism inspected. If the lock mechanism is found to be defective, it will be replaced free of charge.
For further information, consumers can contact the Hyundai Customer Care Centre on 1800 186 306 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 7pm AEST) or find their local dealer at www.hyundai.com.au/dealer
