Identifying features

Water inlet pipe gasket and throttle body gasket

What are the defects?

It has been discovered that the vehicles' engines have two gaskets that contain bonded asbestos fibre.

What are the hazards?

There is negligible asbestos-related health risk to the driver and passengers who use the vehicles. The gaskets are tightly embedded in the vehicles' engines and present negligible hazard during normal operation of the vehicles.

Any work involving these gaskets should be carried out by an authorised licensed motor mechanic who has been made aware of these procedures.

What should consumers do?

Letters will be sent to owners with affected vehicles. Customers should call the Geely Customer Service department on 1300 859 914 to arrange for the replacement procedure to be carried out.

For more information, customers should contact their local authorised Geely dealer or call the toll free customer assistance number: 1300 859 914.
