BSH Home Appliances Pty Ltd—Specified Models of Bosch-Branded Dishwashers (manufactured between 2000 and 2006 inclusively)
What are the defects?
Some affected model dishwashers may potentially develop cracks in the printed circuit board within their control module.
What are the hazards?
Cracks in the circuit boards may lead to melting of solder material or, in an unlikely event, ignition of a fire in the dishwasher.
What should consumers do?
BSH Australia highly recommends that consumers with an affected model cease using their dishwasher immediately and switch it off at the socket outlet. If in any doubt, consumers should immediately contact BSH on 1300 369 744.
BSH Australia will activate an in-home product safety repair action to replace affected components.
Authorised and trained repair agents will visit the homes of consumers with an affected model dishwasher to replace the relevant component in each unit. BSH Australia expect that an in-home repair can usually be arranged within 7 working days. The replacement of the relevant component is a simple, free-of-charge procedure that will take approximately 45-minutes.
A dedicated toll-free hotline (on 1300 369 744) and a website (www.bosch-home.com.au/repair ) have been established to assist consumers.
