What are the defects?
There is a possibility of air being trapped in the hydraulic braking system.
What are the hazards?
The trapped air may cause extended brake pedal travel during braking. In some cases, the rear brake circuit may fail or in extreme circumstances the brake pedal may travel to the floor, increasing the risk of an accident.
What should consumers do?
Known owners will be contacted by BMW Group Australia Ltd or a BMW dealer. Consumers may contact an authorised BMW Service Centre, or call the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299 to arrange an inspection and repair of their vehicle. Consumers can also contact BMW Group Australia via the BMW Group Australia website: https://www.bmw.com.au
Additionally, consumers can go to the BMW Group Australia website, and using their vehicle's VIN, chassis number or registration number, check to see if their vehicle has an outstanding Technical Action, or an outstanding Safety Recall (https://www.bmw.com.au/recall)
