The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has instituted proceedings in the Federal Court against Ozsale Pty Limited for allegedly selling children’s nightwear between July 2014 and October 2015 which did not comply with the mandatory Australian safety standard.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s regular market surveillance activities have prompted recalls of four pairs of jeans and one pillowslip for having unacceptable concentrations of certain ‘azo’ dyes containing unacceptable concentration of aromatic amines.
The revised version of the voluntary Children’s Nightwear Standard (AS/NZS 1249) has been released as a draft for public comment. Public consultation meetings are planned for Sydney (26 July 2013) and Melbourne (31 July 2013).
