A compulsory recall applies to certain types of airbags made by Takata Corporation that are fitted to vehicles or retrieved from vehicles as spare parts. In addition to the compulsory recall, there are three categories of voluntary Takata-related recalls.
Drivers are being urged to check if they are affected by the compulsory recall of vehicles with defective Takata airbags, which has been issued by the Assistant Minister to the Treasurer, the Hon Michael Sukkar.
